History
Towradgi Surf Life Saving Club is located approx 5kms north of the Wollongong CBD.
Towradgi beach extends 3kms from Towradgi Creek in the north to a southern estuary formed by the following streams of Cabbage Tree Creek and Fairy Creek (or, Para Creek as some people call it).
The word 'Towradgi' is a corruption of the aboriginal word 'Kow-radgi', meaning 'Guardian of the Sacred Stones'.
Towradgi Surf Life Saving Club was established on July 12, 1947 and built by four Corrimal SLSC exmembers: Jack Wilson (Deceased), Jim Edwards (Deceased), Eric Blain and Joe Nubley.
